The Wandering Indian
Hi!
I am Adi.
I have been wandering around the Himalayas for over a decade now. I’ve wandered across its length and breadth, at times aimlessly to soak in its raw essence and just be, at other times to chase a very specific objective.
Either ways, every time I stepped into this world I realised, there was always something new to learn or discover, to observe or experience. At times I wonder, if perhaps a lifetime will be enough to explore this god gifted marvel of a dynamic ecosystem.
When I started off, I did not know how this journey would unfold and how my fascination with the HIMALAYAS would evolve. Now as I look back over the years, I realise a few key aspects that stood out and helped me a lot in giving a construct and meaning to make this into a passion with purpose.
So here I am, ready to share my thoughts, observations & learnings from my time in these mountains. I hope these takeaways are much useful to you, just as they have been to me, and perhaps even serve as a stepping stone for you to expand the horizon of your experiences.
Last but not the least, I’d like to leave you with a cliched, overused and yet meaningful excerpt of a line from a poem by JRR Tolkien:
“Not all those who wander are lost.”
Trust me when I tell you this, for I have been doing it for years now 😉
Happy wanderings!
ps: I also write about hiking & trekking trails in the Himalayas. Some which I have explored myself, and some as explored by others. To know more about this, head over to my other blog: http://www.transhimalayantrails.com
